― 摩周湖 ―
その響きだけでも どこか 神秘的だ
アイヌ語では
「カムイトー＝神の湖」と 呼ばれる
神の湖は
日本で最も高い透明度を 誇る
7月のある日
私は 湖畔の高台で
夜明け前から じっと見つめ続けていた
やがて
東雲が 赤く染まりだし
湖面の霧が 揺れ動き
そして
息を呑むほどの
見事な 光景が 現れた

― Lake Mashu ―
Just the sound of the name alone is somehow mystical.
In the Ainu language,
Lake Mashu is called “Kamuito” (Lake of God).
This divine lake boasts the highest transparency in Japan.
One day in July,
I was standing on a hill by the lake,
staring at the lake since before dawn.
Soon,
the eastern clouds began to turn red,
and the mist on the surface of the lake began to shimmer.
Then a breathtaking sight appeared.
