ようやく辿り着いた 奥の山
平家の落人や 菅原道真の末裔の
隠れ里だった 五家荘
急峻な山肌の
すてきな彩りを眺めていると
あまりにも小さな畑に
老夫婦が 現れた
やがて 二人で仲良く
畑仕事を始めた
いかなる運命で
人は生きていくのか
いかなる環境で
人は幸せになれるのか
こころが 震えた

We finally arrived at a place deep in the mountains.
This is Gokanoshou in Yatsushiro City, which was the hiding place for fallen soldier of the Heike family and descendants of Sugawara Michizane.
As I gazed at the wonderful colors of the steep mountainside
In a too small field, an old couple appeared.
Soon, they began to work the fields in harmony.
By what fate do we live?
In what kind of environment can one be happy?
I was shaken with emotion.
